Acute And Chronic Renal Effects Of Hypertension
Dr. Aydan YÜKSEL,a Dr. Turgay ARINSOYa
aİç Hastalıkları AD, Nefroloji BD, Gazi Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, ANKARA The kidney plays an important role in the pathogenesis of hypertension and it is also one of the target organs in hypertension. The relationship between hypertension the and kidney is like a vicious circle. In accelerated-malignant hypertension the deterioration of renal function is important in morbidity and mortality. In the course of mild -moderate hypertension microalbuminuria, hypertensive nephrosclerosis, chronic renal disease and end-stage renal disease may be observed according to individual risk factors. Hypertensive nephrosclerosis is the second leading etiologic cause of end-stage renal disease. The goal of treatment should be effective blood pressure control and renoprotection. Keywords: Hypertension, nephropathy, nephrosclerosis, microalbuminuria, renal failureTurkiye Klinikleri J Int Med Sci 2005, 1(38):65-69
