Dr. Süheyla GÜVEN APAYDIN,a Dr. Ekrem EREKa
aİç Hastalıkları AD, Nefroloji BD, İstanbul Üniversitesi Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesi, İSTANBUL Cardiovascular disease is the major cause of death in renal transplant recipients. Hypertension is an important risk factor for cardiovascular disease as well as for chronic allograft nephropathy. Hypertension occurs in the majority of renal transplant recipients. Use of Cyclosporin A as an immunosuppressive agent, increases the prevalence of post-transplant hypertension in renal transplantation. Non–dihydropyridine CCBs and ACEI/ARBs may have potentially beneficial effectson allograft survival in addition to decreasing the risk of cardiovascular disease in renal transplant recipients with high blood pressure. Keywords: Renal transplantation, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, cyclosporin ATurkiye Klinikleri J Int Med Sci 2005, 1(38):123-127
