Examination Of The Urine And Urinalysis

Although urinalysis has been one of the most informative diagnostic tests for centuries, it is usually a neglected diagnostic approach during daily clinical practice. A timely obtained and processed urine sample provides not only useful information about the nephrological problems but also provides important clues about several systemic disorders. Lately it has been widely utilized in assesing the disease severity, staging of diabetic nephropathy, thus yielding prognostic information. With the advent of dipstick urine testing, the initial screening of the urine has become simplified.
