Renal Involvement In Anca Associated Vasculitis
Dr. Serhan Zübeyde TUĞLULARa
aNefroloji BD, Marmara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, İSTANBUL Renal involvement is one of the most serious organ involvement in ANCA associated vasculitis and prompt diagnosis and treatment with immunosuppressive agents is needed. ANCA seems to have an important role in its pathogenesis. Sequential follow up of ANCA titres may provide additional information about forthcoming relapses and these patient deserve a closer follow up. Treatment with steroids and cyclophosphamide is the first choice in the presence of renal involvement; the results with plasmapheresis is significantly superior in patients with severe reanal impairment at the time of diagnosis. Maintenance treatment should be at least 18 months in patients with renal involvement. Although, new options are emerging for the treatment of refractory cases, there is still need for more efective but less toxic treatment regimens. Keywords: Wegener granulomatosis; churg-strauss syndrome; polyarteritis nodosa; glomerulonephritisTurkiye Klinikleri J Int Med Sci 2007, 3(4):44-51
